Learn2Skate is The Sport Collective’s beginner skating program designed to help children develop confidence, balance, and foundational skating skills in a fun, supportive environment. Whether your child is stepping onto the ice for the first time or still building comfort and control, Learn2Skate focuses on safe, age-appropriate instruction that puts confidence and enjoyment first.

Learn2Skate is ideal for:

Children still learning balance and basic movement on the ice

Kids who need extra confidence before moving into hockey or figure skating
No prior skating experience is required.
What Kids Learn
Our Learn2Skate curriculum focuses on:

Balance and posture

Falling safely and getting up independently

Forward movement and basic stopping

Turning and directional control

Confidence skating independently on the ice
All skills are introduced progressively, ensuring children feel successful at every stage.
Equipment Requirements
Participants must bring:

Skates (properly fitted)

CSA-approved helmet (mandatory)

Warm gloves or mittens

Comfortable winter clothing suitable for movement

Safety First
Safety is our top priority:

CSA Approved Helmets (with cages) are required for all participants

Coaches actively monitor ice conditions and group dynamics

Activities are adapted based on ability, confidence, and safety needs
Participants who are unable to safely participate may be removed from a session for their own safety.
